Many believe that it was due to negligence; however, firefighters believe
that it was actually a case of arson.
The owner had evaded mandatory inspections for the past 4 years. One first
responder, Alex Jones, had this to say.

We have found multiple pieces of evidence that points to this being a very rare case of arson in order to collect on a large sum of insurance money. We will keep the public updated on this as we find more information regarding this case.
